Robert Hochmuth started his Extension career in Kent County, Delaware in 1982 and moved to Florida in 1988.  His current position is 50% multi-county in nature supporting the commercial vegetable extension program in nine counties in the Suwannee Valley area centered around the Suwannee Valley Agricultural Extension Center.  The position’s other 50% of responsibility is to serve as the statewide coordinator for educational programs in the area of small farms, including leadership in the Small Farms Web Site, Small Farms Conferences, and In-Service Trainings.  His programs have been recognized with awards such as National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges, Award for Excellence in Extension, Southern US Region Winner in 2006; USDA Award for Superior Service in 1995; and the NACAA DSA Award in 2003.
