Carolyn Saft is your Suwannee County’s Environmental Horticulture Agent. She attended the University of Florida and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Ornamental Horticulture and a Master’s degree in Agriculture Education and Communication.  Her main focus is to teach residents how to create and maintain environmentally friendly landscapes to minimize water use, reduce storm water run-off in an effort to decrease the potential pollutants of pesticides, and nitrates.   Carolyn also provides leadership for the University of Florida Master Gardener volunteer program. These volunteers participate in an intensive course to learn about gardening and landscaping. In turn, these volunteers advise and teach people of Suwannee County in areas of plants, landscape, and insects and diseases of plants.  Carolyn also works with youth in environmental day camps, early release workshops and county events.  Lastly, Carolyn is a sixth generation Floridian, a real Florida Cracker who is ready to serve you.
